an organization dedicated to advancing the art and craft of tapestry weaving
Artist Gallery: Linda Weghorst
The series is called “Memory” and the content is based on what happens to memory as time progresses. Focus…fragmentation…fading…..lack of clarity are themes that are depicted in the tapestries. I am thinking about my 92 year old mom and myself and how memory evolves over time. The visual elements are a floral design featuring irises echoing turn of the century styles, William Morris, Louis Sullivan, Arts & Crafts. They are all constructed of cotton warp with wool and silk wefts.
